Gouache – sometimes referred to as opaque watercolor, starts out similarly to watercolor. The pigment ratio in gouache is usually much greater than in watercolor and solid white pigment are incorporated. These factors give gouache a much heavier texture and higher opacity than watercolor alone.
But if you feel more comfortable painting in Acrylic that is fine too.
Students will learn to practice shape, color, form and composition using gouache paints (opaque watercolor) with various subject matter. In each class, we will also focus on different styles which will evolve from abstract through impressionism to superrealism.
